Modern high QE guide cameras with small pixels simply don’t need a big guide scope! Small pixels detect guide errors using short focal lengths. When focal length is reduced, FOV becomes wider and you can find guide stars easily. The QHY miniGuideScope kit is based on this idea and contains a 130mm FL, 32mm diameter ultra small telescope operating at F4.3. You just rotate the focuser to focus, then lock for future use. The kit base fits standard finder shoes and can also be bolted to a tripod head. The OTA is securely held without marring.
