Astronomik MC-Clear for Canon EOS 1000D, 40D-250D, 450D-800D, 7D, M is precision optically polished and multicoated special glass. The glass is available in different sizes according to the requirements of the various Canon ® EOS DSLR cameras.

MC glass is mainly used to compensate the optical path of the removed original filter of the camera. Furthermore, it prevents dust from falling directly on the sensor, which may cause image defects.

The MC has no filter effect. It is blocking neither infrared nor ultraviolet light. The transmission is typically higher than 99.7%.

The retrofitted DSLR Camera needs, for proper imaging with camera lenses, light refracting elements such as flat field lenses or focal reducers, an additional filter in the beam path that blocked the infrared or visible spectrum of light, depending on the desired spectral range. For everyday photography, we recommend an Astronomik OWB-Clip filter that is snapped directly and without any tools into the camera body. The sensitivity and the white balance of the camera is being restored to its original state.

For astrophotography in the visible range we recommend at least an L-filter in the light path. For IR photography Astronomik offers EOS Pro 742 or 807 IR pass Clip filters.
